MLK Jr. Celebration

The 2021 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration may be going virtual, but the Town of Mooresville will still be teaming up with the Mooresville Graded School District and other community partners to honor Dr. King and his legacy in a meaningful way. Observed each year on the third Monday in January, MLK Day is not only a federal holiday but also a national day of service to encourage volunteerism, improving local communities with thoughtful projects. In the spirit of that idea, Mooresville’s celebration will include virtual acts of kindness, where residents can send in pictures of themselves doing something nice for another, as well as virtual guest speakers who will talk about the importance of Dr. King and his legacy. More details about the events for 2021’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration will be forthcoming.
