On the grounds of what was once the Ford Motor Company Assembly plant you’ll now find the vibrant urban neighborhood center known as Camp North End. Across more than 76 acres you’ll find a hub for Charlotte’s creators and innovators and their businesses. A less than 2-hour drive east of Mooresville will bring you to the town of Seagrove, home to the largest concentration of potters in the United States. More than 50 pottery shops and 80 potters are concentrated in a 20-mile radius. Open year round, the shops offer a wide range of pottery, from functional to sculptural to historical. Carowinds is a 400-acre amusement park, located adjacent to Interstate 77 on the border between North and South Carolina, in Charlotte and Fort Mill. 12-acre children’s area, 14 world-class rollercoasters, live shows, funnel cakes, water park.
The Carolina Raptor Center is home to 30 different species of raptors for you to see and learn about along our 3/4 mile outdoor nature trail, set up similar to a zoo. Experience educational exhibits like Family Corvidae and Raptors of the Silver Screen, and enjoy our special programs like our Summer Flight Shows. We are a non-profit organization whose operations support the rehabilitation and release of over 1,000 raptors each year, as well as the education of about 80,000 children and visitors in the Charlotte region.

The Carolina Raptor Center is scheduled to open its new state-of-the-art 13,000 square foot facility in late spring/early summer. The new Quest Adventure Center will feature interactive indoor exhibits, expanded raptor observation deck and gift shop, and Duke Energy Ampitheater for its popular flight shows and performances.
